NWFHA Advocacy: Family Needs Multiple Reasonable Accommodations
*“Tiffany” sought assistance from NWFHA when she had difficulties navigating between her family’s housing providers and a housing authority’s policy and procedures. Tiffany was housed but needed a reasonable accommodation for a transfer to a larger unit due to her and two of her children’s multiple disabilities. Unfortunately, Tiffany found that the transition came with many complications and barriers which put her in the position of possibly losing her voucher and housing altogether.

Resolution:
NWFHA worked alongside Tiffany and was able to navigate to clear communications, obtain a doctor verification letter for each family member, request a voucher allotment expansion, and achieve a successful unit transfer while preserving the voucher and preventing eviction.
